Amare was found in the middle of a field in the Deep South of Texas .
He had a severe wound . He needed urgent surgery and a special plate was ordered . A year long this boy had intense rehab . Just to keep his leg what cost as a fortune . Any donations to pay that Bill still is very needed and welcome .
Unfortunately, the week before he finally could leave the hospital , his body rejected the implant . A year long this boy struggled brave to walk again and when finally he was ready it all went south . There was no other solution for him then to amputate.
Amare does not want you to feel sorry for him . He wants only to be accepted as a true German Shepherd .
There is a strong misconception about tripods . These babies can run like the wind . You only have to keep their hips lean and let them adjust on stairs . We adopted several tripods out and their adopters are amazed had quick they adjust .
Amare is around 2.5 years old and in general dog friendly as long they are submissive . He does not like cats .
We are looking for a family who sees Amare and not a tripod . We promise you an amazing , loving active dog .
The adopter will be brought in contact with our other tripod adopters for any question they have.
Amare is in foster care in Huntington NY
